Bio

Talha Saeed is a Toronto based visual artist and has been creating art ever since he can remember. He mainly works with acrylics, markers, and repurposed objects; however, he doesn’t shy away from exploring sculpture and installation.

Talha’s practice revolves around socio-political issues and the general human condition. Critique of heteronomy, gender inequality, and the humanity’s insatiable hunger are some of the recurring themes in his works. Moreover, reification of the devastation caused by the socio-economic hamster wheel that encourages mindless consumption and political docility is one of the key aspects of Talha’s visual practice.

As a lifelong student of history and politics, he often draws inspiration from current and historical events as well as the disparities between the global haves and have nots. Talha is also an avid world traveler and the political, cultural histories of the places he has visited stimulate his art production.
